MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT
ORGANIZATION
The Municipal Government
Organization are composed of the Office of the Mayor, Vice Mayor, Sangguniang
Bayan (SB), Municipal Planning & Development Coordinator, Municipal Civil Registrar,
Municipal Budget, Municipal Accountant, Municipal Treasurer, Municipal Assessor,
Municipal Trial Court, Municipal Health, Municipal Attorney, General Services,
Municipal Social Welfare & Development, Municipal Agriculture, Municipal
Engineer, Market & Slaughterhouse and Municipal Interior & Local Government.
A. OFFICE OF
THE MAYOR
The Office of the Mayor
provides leadership, direction, guidance and coordinator for the whole Municipal
Government Organization. This office also provides the over-all policy
formulation and implementation of locally initiated development plans and
projects. The office undertakes liaison and coordination work with national and
local government agencies involved in the development program and projects.
B. OFFICE OF
THE VICE MAYOR
The Vice-mayor is the
presiding officer of the Sangguniang Bayan. In the absence of the Mayor, he
assumes the work of the mayor, perform the duties and functions of the Mayor as
provided by the Local Government Code.
C.
SANGGUNIANG BAYAN
The Sangguniang Bayan (SB)
is composed of ten (10) members presided over by the Vice-mayor. It is composed
of the Vice Mayor, eight (8) elected members, the Association of Barangay
Captain (ABC) President and the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) President. The
principal function of the SB is purely legislative.
LINE DEPARTMENT
A. THE MUNICIPAL
PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR’S OFFICE
This office formulates
integrated economic, social, physical and other development plans and policies
for consideration of the local government developmental council. It also
monitor projects implemented in consonance to the Municipal Development Plan of
the municipality.
B. THE
MUNICIPAL CIVIL REGISTRAR
This office develop plans
and strategies and upon approval thereof by the mayor, implement the same,
particularly those which has to do with civil registry programs and projects.
Accept all registrable documents and judicial decrees affecting the civil status
of the person.
C. THE
MUNICIPAL BUDGET OFFICER’S OFFICE
This office review and
consolidate budget proposals of different departments of the municipal
government. It also assist the mayor in the preparation of the budget during
budget hearing and coordinates with the Planning & Development Coordinator in
the formulation of the Municipal Development Plan of the municipality.
D. THE
MUNICIPAL ACCOUNTANT’S OFFICE
This office is task to
install and maintain and internal audit system in local government unit and to
prepare and submit financial statement to the mayor and to the Sangguniang Bayan
members.
E. THE
MUNICIPAL TREASURER’S OFFICE
This office is tasked to
collect all monies and revenues acquiring to the municipality and issue proper
receipts, therefore showing the date, the amount paid, the person’s name making
the payment upon which it is paid. Disburse all municipal funds and other funds
entrusted to him by law or by competent authority in accordance with duly
authorized appropriations and upon properly executed vouchers bearing the
approval of the proper authorities and perform other functions as prescribe by
law and ordinance.
F. THE
MUNICIPAL ASSESSOR’S OFFICE
This office acts as the real
property tax officer. It deals with the assessment of real properties,
determining taxes to be paid and monitoring with the Treasurer’s Office, actual
from expected revenue collections.
G. THE
MUNICIPAL HEALTH OFFICE
This office is tasked to
formulate and implement policies, plans and programs to promote health of the
people in the community and advice the Mayor and the Sangguniang Bayan on
matters pertaining to health.
H. THE
MUNICIPAL SOCIAL WELFARE AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICE
This office is tasked to
develop plans and strategies and upon approval thereof by the mayor, implement
the same particularly those which have to do with social welfare programs and
projects which the mayor is empowered to implement and identify the basic needs
of the needy/disadvantage, develop and implement appropriate measures to
alleviate their problems and improve their living conditions.
I. THE
MUNICIPAL AGRICULTURE OFFICE
This office is tasked to
develop plans and strategies and upon approval thereof by the mayor, implement
the same and ensure the maximum assistance and access to resources in the
production, processing and marketing of agricultural and aquacultural and marine
products are extended to farmers, fishermen and local entrepreneur.
J. THE
MUNICIPAL ENGINEER’S OFFICE
The office is responsible
for planning, designing, programming, construction and maintenance of all
municipal infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, water jurisdiction
of the municipality, it is also their responsibility to extend technical
assistance and advice different barangays of the municipality in planning and
construction of public improvement.
